Saskboy sent me a photo this evening of a beautiful buck that his family harvested. He didn't tell me much about the hunt, but he says he will be along later to tell the story. Dan's son is holding the buck by the antlers. Behind are his grandson, great nephew and nephew. Looks like a group that is well pleased with the effort.

Outstanding!
I look forward to reading about the hunt.

Sorry guys & gals that is not a great photograph. I got home this past Thursday night and did not connect on a whitetail :) man I did not even get a shot at one it is a very different fall for me as I just don't seem to be in the right place at the right time!
My Son Mike was with us last Saturday and Sunday only so we concentrated on trying to get him a deer and we were successful on that and have him and my 7 year old grandson with me was a hoot. They left on Sunday night and then we hunted hard for 3 days seeing Moose, Elk and lots of Whitetail does but not another buck until Wednesday afternoon when my hunting partner of 35 years connected on a small 4X4 but I was sue happy for Doug as he has a type of Muscular Atrophy and has to wear special braces and his nick name is Wobbly . First animal he has shot in over 5 years so the whole group was real happy for him.
We took both of the bucks in last night to get them processed so they will be ready next week.
I have not given up yet as I am planning on leaving this coming Monday at noon and hunting Monday night and then last 2 days of the season which is Tuesday & Wednesday.
I will sent DrMike a couple of more photographs hopefully later today.
PS. Good to see that other people are having success (y).

Blessings,
Dan

Noah and I have been hunting hard this month, Dan. Most unusual. We ran into a herd of about fifty elk last week, and I've cut out several moose (both bulls and cows) as well as mule deer, but no whitetails. This is a most unusual fall for me. We cut wolf tracks each time we go out, and found tracks indicating several pairs tracking some rather large bucks this morning. The bucks are holding tight and where I'm not.

That is alright Rodger, it was not a bad buck but we normally let those grow . They took him because you could tell he was definitely on his decline.
Yes DrMike it looks like we are having similar falls :?.

Blessings,
Dan

Well friends it is not over yet  as I am leaving tomorrow at noon or thereabouts for the last two & half days of whitetail.
We have been given some leads on a couple of areas that supposedly are holding some good whitetail bucks , I sure hope so.
I will keep you posted>

Blessings,
Dan

Go get 'em, Dan. Our season ends tomorrow. However, I've got a full day scheduled, so my season ended today. Hey, I'm pulling for you to tag out.

Just sitting down for a slice of toast & a cup of wake me up .
Will be leaving around 7:00am our time to get to this new area by shooting time. One thing for sure I won't be seeing the same sights as before should be interesting to figure out the lay of the land!!
Good luck to all that are out hunting today, remember Shoot straight, have Fun & most of all be Safe.

Blessings,
Dan

Good luck, its a great morning cold and clear and no wind at least not hear. Don't forget to smash a coyote or two.
