Welcome aboard, Bojan. Glad to have you. I don't have a 6.5X68, but I do shoot an 8X68S. The 6.5X68 is one of the great cartridges that has managed to be overlooked, I fear. If I was in the market for another rifle, that would quite likely receive my attention.
What information, specifically, are you looking for? Are you planning on using this cartridge for hunting? What game do you have in mind for the cartridge, if you are hunting? Are you planning on using the rifle primarily to punch paper? Will your shots be under 300 meters? Or are you anticipating shots beyond that? Determine what you want to use the rifle for and choose your bullet accordingly.
If you can give us a bit of guidance on what you are looking for, no doubt there will be many people willing to give you the benefit of their expertise. If you have a chance, post a picture of your setup; without a doubt that will be of interest to most of us here.

Hi Mike, many thanks for your post. I use 6.5x68 for hunting. Also I have 8x68 and 9.3x62. In 6.5x68 I use RWS KS 8.2 gramms, but I am ready to start reloading. Main problem is bullet, because twist rateDrMike":iv4hwsan said:

You will need to google the 6.5x68 Schuler and look for load data info and read all you can find. I'm not sure if Norma has any in their online manual. From what I have read it is similar to the 6.5mm Remington Mag and the 264 Winchester . Some say you can use starting load data for these cartridges and slowly work up but I don't recommend that you do that since you lack experience in reloading.
As far as bullet weight you should be good with 129gr and lower with that twist rate, maybe even 140gr depending on type of bullet. The VLD style bullet may need a faster twist.

I shoot a 9.3X64 in addition to the 8X68S--love both of them. A couple of years ago, I was focused on building a 6.5X68S, but wound up building a .358 Norma Magnum instead. Your twist is sufficient to handle about any of the heavier bullets you might care to shoot. What is the primary purpose of the rifle? Do you intend to punch paper or are you hunting some particular game? The 142 grain Nosler ABLR will serve you very well. A stiff charge of 4.54 grams of H1000 will yield a muzzle velocity of 962 m/s, which is stepping out quite nicely. The following table shows a good variety of powders that will work very well for you:
You will see a similar range of powders with the 129 grain Nosler AccuBond LR:
I really like the performance of the Nosler E-Tip on game when shot from a variety of cartridges. The 100 grain Nosler E-Tip would be a great all around choice.
I note that N570 is found as a top performer on all these bullets. I truly like this powder (and N560). They have always performed exceptionally well for me in a variety of cartridges. Perhaps that provides some ideas for you to work with.

Mike, many thanks for this reloading data. I use 6.5x68 for hunting small to medium game (roe deers, chamois, small mild boar and predators). I talk with some German hunters which use same caliber, and they told me that max bullet weight is 130 grain basic on Sauer 202 twist rate. I have a Krico 6.5X68 with the same twist rate that I use to hunt european red deer.
From what i've seen most factory rifles in this caliber have that same twist rate (1:250mm).
It's a slow twist rate for a 6.5 and you may have problems stabilizing some 130 or 140 grains long bullets and some monolithic bullets.
My rifle doens't like the 140 gr Accubonds.
Groups with the 140 gr Partitions and 140 Ballistic Tip are around 3cm at 100m.
Sierra GameKing 140 gr or the PRVI 139 gr B-084 (from Serbia :wink: ) where a bit better.
I get 1 cm groups with the 125 gr Partition or the factory RWS 127 gr KS.
About the powders: You need slow magnum powders. I've tested Vectan TU8000 and Relaod Swiss RS80 and both where fine.
What powders can you get in Serbia?
Some loads, all with RWS cases and RWS 5333 magnum primers:
PRVI 139 grains B-084, COL 84 mm 63,20grains of TU8000 -> 950 m/s
Sierra GameKing 140gr #1730 COL 84mm 75gr of RS80 -> 945 m/s
Nosler Ballistic Tip COL 86,35 mm 75.5gr of RS80 -> 945 m/s
Nosler Partition 125gr COL 85,40 mm 78 gr of RS80 -> 990 m/s
Nosler Partition 140gr COL 84 mm 63.5 gr of TU8000 -> 945 m/s
Note about QL: the case capacity I measured was lower than the one given by default in QL (83/84 grains of H2O vs 86gr)

Welcome to the forum. Excellent first post with good information. Thanks for giving your input. I would expect that the Partizan is soft, but it would work just fine. Consequently, when you load the AccuBonds, are you allowing a good jump to the lands? I find that ~0.25 cm will yield the best accuracy.
