About 11:00 this morning, was up a canyon, not far from home. Working with my bird dog. He was INTENT on some chukar (partridge) that he'd found and was working them well.
I happened to glance up. Head on a swivel again.... Old habit to keep from getting shot... And there's The BEAR! About 200 yards and well above us. He was very much aware of us down in the bottom of the canyon. He'd watch us a bit then go striding along the ridge, heading higher, and farther west towards the high country. That's two bears in a week, within about 20 miles of each other. Perhaps when our season opens on Aug 1st my son and I will find another!
