Scouting Trip

Good luck and be careful! i have often thought that it would be exciting to hunt in grizzly country, but I can honestly say I have no desire to hunt in drug smuggling country! Such a shame that beautiful country like that can't be enjoyed by people because of criminals.

I hear anything south of the 10 is or can be a tuff place depending on who ya run into or who you do not run into? Vince said he had air support on speed dial but I am not usually dependant on other Government agencies as they could be on a coffee brake when lead was flying or attending to higher priorities they tell me? That does not work for me unless I am prepared for it :)

Been an interesting trip.
I'll just say that I've learned to love hunting solo. Spent the night bivouaced on a ridge but ended up in the ICU 2 nights later due to diabetic complications. My next investment is a satellite phone.
I learned a lot about myself and others. The ICU thing was because of my insulin pump. It's a long story but the short of it is my insulin catheter pulled out but I didn't know it.
One deer taken out of the four hunters in camp. I'm doing everything right but Luck doesn't know me when it comes to coues deer.
Already working on next year's plan.

Hang in there Vince. You'll get what you want when the time is right! I used to love hunting alone also, but a little help and companionship is welcome at my age now.

Thanks Bruce.
For some reason this animal gives me fits.
Everyone says I'm doing it right but for some reason I just haven't been blessed. I will say that the only thing I worked as hard at was riding bulls.

Sorry to here about your health problem interfering with your hunt. Hang in there and next year make it a successful hunt.

Sounds like a small issue grew a tad! Sorry to hear Ya had issues but me hunting has its issues as well as having an MI in middle of nowhere which would be a disaster! Great the camp scored and hopefully you will get a chance next hunt as long as I have been hunting they are never all associated with a harvest! Better luck next time!

Just keep to the higher ridges and you'll be fine.
I bivouaced on one for a night. Had an "in the black" helo behind me and three BP Agents below me. I'm sure they all knew I was there and thought me crazy. [emoji1]
Next year it's going to be a bivy hunt the entire hunt.
