Well more than one really. My daughter wanted to see real live elk for a change instead of mounts. So I took her on a day trip to Estes Park. Found a few nice ones that I wouldn't mind finding on public land some day.

Even found a pretty nice buck!

I had a great time with the kid shooting animals with the Olympus!

Great shots. I take it you weren't able to get the deer into the trailer?

LAMO Doc!

That pic was taken about 15 min east of Estes Park on Hwy 36. Sure was a change in the weather. We even found another herd laying in a old corn field on the way home. I bet they would taste really good!

Plus, I had to stop on the way home so my daughter could take a picture of this strange bird.

I find it interesting that there are still bulls hanging out with the cows. I take it the rut is still on. Our bulls have already segregated into bachelor herds again. I haven't seen any bulls with the cows for several weeks. Consequently, that big bird would surely provide a feast on Thanksgiving. You'd need two hands on either side of the wish bone, and a drumstick would feed a family.

Those are some great pictures! Thanks for sharing.

So that is where all the spike bulls went too..

Great pictures! Awesome to see elk, even if you can't actually "take" one! Scotty
