Should I?

Oh, dear, you don't suppose Scotty will be buying a Remington, do you?

No but a Sako in that caliber would rock!
:p

That is funny   I posted that ad here! How many does that make Scott?

I think that is the 2nd one Fotis. I wasn't really looking for a 25-06 right now to be honest, but when I PM'ed him, he was able to work with me some and it looks pretty nice. I have wanted a Sporter 25-06 for awhile since I had that CDL that kinda gave me fits. So when I saw the wood on that one, I was kinda stuck. I actually mulled it over for a day before I did anything..

I already have all the cases and dies for it, planning to get another down the road, so I got it. Should be a good one. I figure after I shoot it a little, if it needs to get get bedded and pillared, it wouldn't take much, but I think it might be pretty decent as it is.

I have plenty of big boomers, but this one would be a nice one for the wife to deer hunt with, if she wants or someone new to hunting shooting. I can't imagine the recoil is anything at all. The Remington was a baby in recoil. I am actually a little excited to start goofing around with a 257 caliber again.

It is nice man.

I have so much existing overlap it is disgusting. Can not find anything I "need".....

Man, unused dies and brass is a gun magnet. Good buy, Scotty. It does look nice. Congratulations.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I really think twice before opening a thread or a post where I see this name FOTIS because I either get enabled or have to fight off strong urges. Of course it is hard to resist knowing what FOTIS has found, so I decided to do this the scientific way when trying to decide whether or not to open a post or thread that displays FOTIS' name - I FLIP A DOUBLE HEADED COIN , and feel much better and in control when I open it.

Sounds nice Scotty, if you drop that into a Mcmillan Edge it would drop a lot of weight and may be easier for your wife to shoot. Good luck on the new 25-06 :)

I have gone way past overlap. Then again, I don't really care too awfully much. I have my goals in my head and just hope someone can use these when I am too old to carry them.

Thanks for the comments, I dig Model 70's. Not because they are better than anything else, just that I like them..

I think so Gerry. Not sure, I will let her be the judge of the weight. I think it would be a super rifle for her to start shooting longer with me. She showed some interest in it, so I think a little recoiling 25-06 with some 115's might be fun. I know I will get plenty of range time with it and she won't get on the gun till I have worked it out some for her.

You don't need a double headed coin. Just take a quarter, sillver dollar and flip it. If it lands.on heads Fotis wins and you have to open the post. If it lands on tails you lose and have to open the post. Heads I win, Tails you lose!

I am with you Kurt. Overlap just gives me more chances to try more Nosler's!

Gotta say though, it is a serious affliction we are blessed with. I am getting to the point it is hard to pick a rifle I wanna hunt with.

Now that is funny, I like that a lot better than my approach. AWESOME!!!

That 6MM was nice but the recoil pad looked aftermarket and done a bit sloppy to me. That'd be easliy fixed. I collect Ruger #1s and the standard #1B I have in 6MM is a tackdriver. I have two #1B's in 25-06, one very pretty rifle and the other looks like it was rode hard and put away wet. The pretty doesn't shoot worth a damn and the beat up gun is a tack driver. The pretty one will be the donor for a .35 Whelen. 8)

Teach that to an 8 year old just starting school. They will take away all the other kids milk money and then when they end up in detention or the principals office its quite funny to see what they do. Especially when the kid says, " I won it fair and square! Do you want to play? " After four or five flips the look on their face is priceless. When they realize they have been had and they are trying to conjure an explination that its wrong even though the kid won their stash of quarters fair and sqare.
