should've got the early wolf permit

Had a beautiful almost coal black big timberwolf cross my shooting lane Sunday deer hunting. Would have made a pretty coat. Unfortunately I opted for the late season license so he was not fair game.

Interestingly, 2 deer came by about an hour later on the same trail and didn't seem the least bit alarmed. They had to scent him. Go figure.

The latest number that I have found is 69 registered so far (11/7) in the early season. This is a 1% success rate for the hunters that have permits to harvest a wolf in the early season. I doubt the early season # of 200 will be reached. I have this coming weekend to find one before it closes for me. Good luck on the late season hunt Polaris.
