I've had one 1911 many years back so I'm by no means knowledgeable. But lately I've been looking at another pistol with a longer sight radius mainly for a fun gun, but also to do some duty as SD.
So in my local LGS awhile ago I handled a new Sig Scorpion and I really liked the way it felt and looked. It also has a rail for a laser or light as it will rest in my bedside stand, plus it comes with factory nite sites.
I have since heard it said from people who may or may not know what they are talking about to "Stay away from SIG 1911's"
So,what's your opinion on this pistol? Main duty will be to burn a lot of powder and punch big holes in stuff.

I've shot a Sig 1911 and have a friend who swears by his. I've never seen the gun hiccup and it seems to feed everything he puts in it. I don't know how much more you can ask.

I have one of the original Sig GSR's and have had the same performance experience Big Rifleman mentioned. Regardless of the ammo, it put it in nice neat little groups if the shooter did their part and it has never malfunctioned since I've owned it.

Over the years I've owned Springfield Trophy Matches, a Springfield black stainless, and other top end 1911's but none matched the performance of the Sig.
