Sally found a turkey egg shell , this seems a little early . I'm not sure if it hatched , or something got into the nest . the shell is clean ,and there was nothing else by the egg to make me think it was destroyed .

Sally just loves the one water hole we walk by . when we get home she gets a bath , after we walk this area .

Good to see such signs of spring. It is fifteen today (sixty for those living in the States). This after -8 on Monday and Tuesday (17 for those living in the USA). The eight inches of heavy snow we received on Sunday and Monday is almost all gone. I've heard reports of the first bruins moving around. About time to go see if I can tag one.

The only sign of spring I see is the snow is finally gone. Last week of April we’re usually turn the ground over for planting season.

she found another egg today . this one was right beside a dirt road we were walking . this egg did not hatch , there was yolk with the egg . something raided the nest . I didn't have my camera , so I brought it home . I thought some of you guys that don't have many turkey might be interested .

bringing this one back up .

I'm still taking Sally for a walk about everyday , weather permitting . we walk the woods , she enjoys being lose and checking things out . we go for at least an hour . maybe two weeks ago we had a very nice morning . right at day break we heard turkey cackle on the fly down . then a Tom let out a gobble . it sure was nice to hear . a few days ago I saw my first flock of geese flying north . yesterday and the day before I had to pick ticks off Sally . it looks like another tick infested season . I have not seen a Robin yet .

we were in a new area yesterday . the one place was just all tore up . there was a lot of rubs and scrapes scattered around . he was definitely charged up , and spending a lot of time in this area . most of the rubs were clusters , not a single tree . the little branchy tree in the foreground is broken up . not sure if I ever seen this , or to this extent before .

We have had 4 seasons in the last 3 weeks.
3 weeks ago it was in the mid 80s.
2 weeks ago it rained 4 inches in 3 days, than drop to 32 degrees.
Last week it was in the high 80s and low 90s.
This week there is a wind advisory and 60.
It's difficult to get acclimated to anything.

At home it had been a relatively dry winter. Sounds like it’s making up for it now. 36 and raining the last couple of days but that kind of forecast brings snow above 4000 feet which will help.Tucson is simply warm and sunny. Hit 90 last week for a couple of days but only into the high 60s today. I walk the dogs 1/2 hour before sunrise wearing a T shirt.

we're supposed to be in the mid 60's the next couple days . beginning of next week around 70 . over nights warming up too . I'll take it .

we did a couple hour walk this morning and Sally got covered in ticks . I probably picked 10 or 15 off her before we got in the truck . on the 15 minute ride home , I was picking them off my pants and flicking them out the window . got her out of the truck at home picked probably 4 or 5 off of her , before she ran for the house . I took a couple pics of her at the house . I picked 7 off her head and neck . took off her collar and there were a couple under it . and a few more on her body before we went in the house . then they slowly keep coming to the top on her . I'd guess probably 35 to 40 total on her today . I'd never want any other color for a dog , the ticks show up good on yellow .
