It is a really simple rule: Ask how much the gun costs BEFORE you pick it up and fall in love.
I want to treat myself and get a nice 1911 commander size in 9mm, was thinking a Dan Wesson or maybe really splurge and try to find an Ed Brown! well I have been on the search at the typical local shops and no luck, online search found one that may fit the bill an hour or so drive, so thought I would just go look at a place that carries a decent variety, some real high end stuff, but not known for getting a good deal so I typically try and stay away. Its nice being as they have alot of inventory everything out and not under glass(except the Cabot's) so you can have a good look, just no price tags . Well I thought I was safe, no dan wesson or ed brown 1911's, there was a few Wilson Combat, I looked around and didn't see anything that that really interested me enough to pick up. And there is was on a table with a few Korth revolvers and a Freedom Arms, wasn't quite sure what it was so simple and elegant looking. Turned out to be a Nighthawk Delegate and Wow! what a nice firearm, no I did not leave with it but, I really wish I didn't know it exists, for sale, in a place I can stop by during my lunch break.

Patrick, I think you should get it. Look at it this way, it is cheaper than a new truck and doesn't need a garage. It doesn't eat hay and leave droppings. No vet bills and it doesn't require a babysitter. Furthermore, it could prove useful. Finally, if worse comes to worse, it could always be redeemed for cash.
