Found these tonight when I stopped at the Scheels in Sioux Falls, SD. They had several NIB Remington Classics from past years including two 35 Whelens! I know some of you have talked about them in the past, so thought I would pass the info on in case someone still wants (needs  ) one.

I think the Classics are some of the best-looking rifles out there. I've got one for Y2K, the .223 Rem chambering. I've had it for five or six years and have yet to develop a load for it for one reason and another, but it's next on my list. The Whelen sounds like something I'd love to have, but there's a Winchester 101 callin' my name and I have to figure out how I'm going to swing it.

Had one 10 years ago. I could not break 2 moa with it.....

That was one of the reasons I built a .338-06 instead of a 35 Whelen. Most of the guys said that they could never get them to shoot MOA or even close to that. The other reason was better ballistics and sectional density in bullets for the 33 caliber. If I was collecting classics, it would be hard to pass on the Whelen with the price they were asking though.

My M700 Classic 35 Whelen is a shooter.
The 35 Whelen is an easy 300 yd elk and moose rifle, and puts WT deer and Black bear down at the shot.

Do not forget 125 grain Hollow point 357 gr bullets at crazy velocities for prairie dogs..... or 10 gr of unique for a blistering 1100 fps for squirrels, sage hens plinking etc.
