I am looking for some really cheap bullet to go and shoot marmots and coyotes with and I found some of these bullet for 94.99 per 1000 of them. I am not sure if the steel jacket would hurt the barrel or not. What are all of your opinions? Here is the link http://www.patsreloading.com/patsrel/prices.htm they are about 1/3 down the page. Thanks

Winchester did some testing with copper washed steel jackets some years back. They said the copper acted like a lube, and so long as they were copper washed, they didn't hurt the barrel.

Don't wast you time with these bullets. They are not accurate. They are pulled bullets from 7.62X54R ammo that were .310 to .3105 diameter that have been sized down to .308 diameter. If you want to hit what you are shooting at don't expect to do it with these bullets. I know people that have tried. If you are shooting something in the 308 to 30-06 get you some Speer 125 gr TNT bullets. They are really accurate and really come apart on varmints and are about as cheap a quality bullet as you can get.
