My little huntin buddy Mckenna invited me to go oryx hunting with her and her dad the other day, couldn't say no to that. It's been a little on the warm side for hunting but sure beats sweating at the house! Saw plenty of oryx, even a couple very nice specimens, these things can be tough and her dad and I agreed to have her hunt for a good shot opportunity rather than giant horns if it came down to it. After a quick stalk and a couple of 140 accubonds from her 7mm-08 Mckenna bagged her "unicorn"! Have had a lot of fun huntin with this youngster, good to see the enthusiasm, her goal is to harvest every species of big game in New Mexico before she turns 18, she is nearly there and has plenty of time if she can pull the tags.

That is great! Congratulations, Mckenna. That looks to have been a fantastic hunt.

Congrats!! Very cool animals.
Hopefully she gets the opportunity to meet her goal!

Wow. Congrats to all of you. That young lady has a bright future ahead of her in New Mexico and beyond.

That's really neat. I wish her the best at achieving her goal! They sure are a pretty animal and I also hear they are very good eating. Can anyone weigh in on that?

Perfect little round for her to shoot, the 7mm-08, and the Nosler AccuBond can't really be beaten either. (y)

The one I just shot in Namibia tasted great. Wish I could've brought some home. I'm definitely putting in for NM tags next year.

Congrats to the young Hunter! She did great. I've heard they are very tough animals but it sounds like she did everything to put one its nose hard! Way to go.
