T/C Encore advice and info

So, I bought the 280 after work today. I did a lot of online research and didn't find anyone with horror stories about the Encore. I really didn't want another large caliber like the 7 Mag and decided to give the 280 a try. I checked my bullet stash and don't have as many 7mm bullets as I do 6.5s and 30s cuz those are what I've shot most. I've got enough to get me started and I also remembered that two years ago or so I bought something over 100 rounds of once fired and new brass from a friend
Anyway, here she is.

Ron,
Congrats on the Encore 280 Rem. What bullet are you going to run with?

Congrats!
I am all in for a .473 head size case (308 Family/Creed Family/30-06 Family, etc...) in the Encore.
If you think I am against a 280, 280AI, 35 Whelen, 338-06, etc... in the Encore, you would be wrong.

My warning was for magnum boltfaces, where you reload them to max, assuming you have the strength of a bolt action or a falling block action.
The moral of my story, is don't follow my lead where I screwed up, I was lucky I wasn't hurt

JD, I'm not 100% sure yet. I got home late from work and didn't have the time to make an in depth bullet inventory but one that caught my eye are some 150 gr Solid Bases I bought a year or so ago. In my mind I would like to stay with 140s or 150s since my primary game will be deer. I have some other tipped bullets from Sierra, Nosler , and Hornady so I'll load some test rounds to see what the rifle likes.

I wasn't thinking anything like that, XP, I took it as food for thought. Examples like that are how the rest of us can learn and be safer with our gear.

I think you are going to like the rifle. I know you are going to like the cartridge.

None of the several barrels I have are rimmed and it's never been an issue. Not opposed to them, just haven't found one I'd want. Though a 30-30 AI in a Contender would be fun.
