Just got my DPS back from Lyman. I sent it out about 3 weeks ago for repair. I accidentally left the power on overnight and when it's time for me use it, it would not calibrate.

Lyman not only repair the DPS II but also upgraded the powder reservoir and drop tube ala DPS III. All of it free of charge. Lyman also included in the package, new powder pan and weight check.

Wow, that is great DF! Sounds like great service. I am in the market for an electronic powder drop/scale and Lyman is in the running along with the Hornady. Thanks for the report. Good information to know before putting out alot of money on one. Scotty

DF I have the original DPS and a DPS 3. I bought the upgrade kit for the original but it continually over dispensed the powder, even with the restrictor plug in it. I have put the old components back in it and it works great even though it's slower. I 'll take slower and accurate any day overr fast and inaccurate. As for the my DPS 3, it's at Lyman now getting checked out for the same reason - over dispensing. For instance, while dispensing 53.5gn of H4350, I would routinely get 53.7 to 53.9 - not good. One thing I noticed on my DPS 3 is it wouldn't slow to a trickle soon enough. It would run up to the charge weight entered and stop - always resulting in over dispensing the powder.

Keep an eye on your machine and scale while in use. I hope my machine's problem was just something wrong with my machine.

Thanks Rich. I did checked the dispensing speed and accuracy of the scale comparing it with my RCBS 1010. It would take 49 seconds for the DPS to dispense 95 grains of Retumbo. I dispensed a total of 12 times just to see if there will be any variations. I found none. The reading on DPS matched that on the RCBS. The accuracy of the Lyman is unbelievable.

I agree, the lyman products I've had have been good to me. So my DPS3 had some issues, I hope Lyman finds a problem with it and gets it running again.
