Thanks Guy's

I don't have a digital camera so not one picture of the moose.Wish i had one though.

Well here goes.
On tuesday evening I went back to the same place I've hunted once or twice this year.Lots of good sign but never saw a moose.I started by sneaking into the slash while making low soft cow calls.

First call nothing second call 2 bull grunts.Knowing the wind was wrong I had to move and move fast to cut him off.On the 3rd call the moose started to break timber but wouldn't step out into the cut.

The moose was standing in a bit of a hole when I noticed his tips of the horns.Waiting and wondering what to do Wind was still wrong he moved foward giving me a good shot at roughly 200 yds.MY first shot took out his lungs but the moose spun around and stood there. The second shot hit him in the neck.By this time he was piled up.

It happened pretty fast.Giving the moose a few minutes to stiffen up I walked over and the moose never moved out of the hole. The first shot was a good one but the moose standing in the hole didn't give me much to shoot at so I couldn't tell how hard he was hit.The second one in the neck settled the debate.

Antler wise he is 42 inches with 8 on one side and ten on the other. The butcher never weight it but thought 600 pounds 4 quaters dressed. Will know the weight when i get the cutting bill.

I do have to Thank my father and our family friend Kevin who worked their tails off helping me get him out.

Mike
