The family of cartridges is complete!!

USMC89 has just finished getting the dies and bullets for the 22X47 build that is starting. Here are some pictures of the complete family and the latest die set.

22X47 Die set (bushing dies not sure what bushing is going to be used)

The whole family L to R: 22X47 with 80 g JLK, 6X47 with 105 VLD, 6.5X47 with 130 VLD.

I'm not sure what the velocities will be with the 22X47, but it will have to be pushing 22-250 numbers I would think. Jeff can give you the details on what this build will be.

me too i think i am going to order a 6mm barrel tomorrow and run all three of them off the bat. looking forward to shooting the 22x47, the reamer should be here in a few weeks and i think with the interest my gunsmith is showing it will be done shortly after getting those?

you got to see the 6.5x47 in action at the match it seemed to work ok didnt it? i know if a guy that knew what he was doing with it was using it it would be more impressive. thanks again for spotting for us and hope you bring your gear next time we may need a hunter class guy on the squad in may and if so your more than welcome to shoot with us if you like.

thanks for posting joel, as far as velocity it seems to be hovering around the 3350-3400 with the 80g bullets on the info i have read. wherever it shoots the best is where it will be loaded to. not a big deal to put one or two more clicks on the scope. looking forward to getting together to shoot an f class match with you in north dakota.

Accubonds for my Ruger #1B 30-06 to load up. Scotty found a great deal on them. I will have enough of them loaded to cover the rounds needed for the hunter class. Looking forward to it!

Accubonds for my Ruger #1B 30-06 to load up. Scotty found a great deal on them. I will have enough of them loaded to cover the rounds needed for the hunter class. Looking forward to it!

That sounds like a good time David. What does the hunter class entail?

My plan was to build a tactical rifle with this caliber after the 6.5X47 was done. Now that I bought the 6BR, there won't be a need to jump on that caliber. The high BC bullets in those little 6's make incredible shooting machines for varmints or matches. Light recoil so you can shoot all day and in most cases watch the bullet impact if you have a good scope.

That sounds like a good time David. What does the hunter class entail?

Precision rifle: Believe it was 63 shots total at 8 stations at known distances. The most shots at one stage was 9. You engage different sized steel targets at 300 to 1345 yards, hit or miss. There might be a 300, 486, 550, and an 800 yard target at one shooting station.

Hunter Class: 100 to I think they had the longest one at 450 yards. I think it was about 42 or 43 shots total. Known distances scored hit or miss. In both classes there is a time limit factored in so you don't have all day to shoot. Keeps things moving along and puts a bit of pressure on a person, just like hunting would! This is in both classes again. You can use a bi-pod on the front or a hunting pack. I think you were also allowed to use a rear support like a small rear bag if you so desired.
