Wow, Dan, you must be pretty excited, posting twice. I can't answer on the Model 48 Professional, but the Model 48 Custom Sporter offers quite a few LH models (http://www.nosler.com/Rifles/Custom-Sporter.aspx).

Sure you do, Guy. You ALWAYS need a new rifle, even if you just bought one! That .30-06 would do a fine job replacing the 1917 that your son seems to have donated to himself.
