The Rut kicked off in Scotland!

My dad had an Oberndorf commercial Mauser with the spoon handle bolt. It was a beautiful classic rifle and would have come down to me on his death, had it not been stolen while he was in Florida recuperating from a bypass.

Anthow, he hunted moose extensively in Quebec with that rifle and the 175 RN factory ammo (Norma). He killed several meat bull moose and never lost one. He was not a great shot and practice was three rounds in a stump at 50 yards. The 7mm Mauser has proven itself since 1892.

Now isn't Winkie just a star. I got home from the office this evening to find my scope and new mounts returned.
Just £10/$15.90 for the postage the charge. Brilliant!
So my Blaser will be good to go after a short re-zero session.
Hopefully that'll be me away for a stag come Friday night....all I need is just a little luck!

That sounds sweet OT3 and a great pity about the loss of that rifle. It certainly did the business by the sound of it.
Cheers, ET.

Good report, Tom. We'll all be looking forward to an even better report following the weekend.
