So I'm headed to New Zealand for the month of December to cull goats and do some fishing... and I figured I'd better build a goat rifle. This stuff has trickled in over the last couple days... off to the 'smith tomorrow.

SD is there any chance that your suit case could fit a guy from Saskatchewan in it . That would be a great month to be away from the cold north.
Well that rifle you are going to build will do a great job. Remember lots of photos!!

Blessings,
Dan

Congrats SD

Looks to be a nice project. What barrel did you get?

SD,
Looks good to go! I'm thinking about a .260 barrel to replace the pipe on my too small of a barrel .243 FN Mauser. Got any twist input for shooting 100's for coyote and 140's for elk? Not sure if 1-8 or 1-9 would work best for me. Anyway, your set up looks sweet. To echo JD, tell us about the parts and build!

That's a Rock Creek 1/8" twisted #4 contour that'll finish at 22 1/2". I'm having it threaded for a brake/suppressor. The barreled action will go in an older HS Precision ADL Sporter stock for now. Talley lows and the Leupold 3-9x40 with turrets going on top. Should come in right around 8.25 pounds.

Planning on running either the 123 Amax or the 130 Berger for LR work... and the 90 TNT for goo-flingin'.

You lucky dog! I am dying to go there!

Expensive?

I'm just posting to bump this up, because I'm surprised when someone posts pics of a threaded barrel in .260 and then mentions using a can that this isn't already a 3 pager. Not to mention hunting Down Under.

Bump.
