My Tikka 6.5 Swede shooting 140 gr AB over RL-22

Yes, I'd say your Swede is digesting those quite well. That is obviously a good load for that particular rifle.

Nicely done. 4 clicks east and you are ready to go.

Yes sir I would indeed say it likes the 140 AB and RL-22, very nice shooting.

What game not to shoot with a 140 AB. These bullets are nasty long.

That looks very good congrats. You could probably use that load for anything from deer to moose, it will expand quick for the smaller stuff and still be tough enough for something as big as a moose.

Glad I bought 500 of the 140 gr Accubonds when SPS had them as seconds !!!!!

Will put my need for a 7mm-08 into question......

Wait, what am I thinking......everyone needs one, two or three 7mm-08's

Whew! That was close! Glad you caught yourself before you made a serious mistake.

Nice group! Mine likes the 120 BT so much I haven't loaded anything else. I do have a few hundred SPS 140 BTs, but haven't found a reason to load them yet. My 7/08 shoots everything pretty well, but that 140 AB is a stellar performer in it. I'd say I like the swede more because it is a Ruger No. 1A, but the black walnut stock on my 7/08 is gorgeous.

The Tikka T3's have 22 1/2 inch barrels.

Did not chrono the load today, but I used 46 gr of RL-22 which is 0.5 gr less than the Nosler manual max. Would per Nosler data, should be about 2700 fps.

The BC of these bullets is 0.509

Eric

With 2700 fps add 6 clicks north to those 4 clicks east which will make you 3" high at 100 yards and you will be good to go out to around 350 yards with a center hold on a deers front shoulder from point blank to 350 yards.

Same here. I bought a ton of them for my 264 Win Mag as well. They are unreal accurate in that rifle as well!

Great shooting. That is a very cool combo. Still would love to have a smaller 6.5 in the future. Those long 140's are just unreal the way they carry downrange.

The 6,5x55 has always been known as an accurate round regardless in which gun it was fired in. I have seen too many times how an 1896 Swedish Army Issue rifle, mounted with a cheap scope making tiny groups @ 100 & 200 meters. Back in the mid 80s these army issued rifles were sold overhere for about $100 a piece. Gundealers had them in piles.

Nice shooting!!.

Since the last two years were .257 Roberts and 7x57, I imagine Big Red will have their Shot Show Featherweight slated for 6.5x55 before too long, Scotty. I'd be awfully tempted by that one myself...

Oh, and Orchemo, great load!

That's what I am sorta thinking as well. I am kinda holding out, as my son has the FWT 7x57 so my daughter having a Swede would be pretty cool. I imagine she'd let me shoot it a little.

In my Sako 85 swede the ab shoot great also. RL-22 46 gr might not get to 2600 fps at least in my rifle with 22 inch tube. 48 gr gets me to 2625 - 2650 fps.
Better powder proofed to be Norma MRP the same load and the same velocity but it will shoot clover leave all day long. With 140 Partition N560 the same load amout shoot perfect also.
I would look at the chronograph. I always do when I work ona new load.
