Made in SC '06 Featherweight. Destined for a VX II 3-9x40 LR Duplex in S&K mounts.

Just messing with you, guys... got to get a little payback for the Remington 700 cracks! :)

Sorry for the horrible pics. Didn't feel like dragging the DSLR out, just used my POS P&S. Might have to rethink that.

We all have our weak moments BK. Keep it in a gun sack and just tell anyone that asks that it's a project rifle. :)

Seriously, that's a very attractive rifle. What's it chambered in? I'm assuming that it has a .308 tube...

Typical Model 70--beautiful. And it will only grow more lovely when you pull the trigger. Ah, yes, the angels will weep at the joyous rhapsody created by the sound of the smooth action chambering another round which in turn will overlap the previous projectile. It is a blessing known only to those who own a Winchester. Good purchase, Kurt.

I wasn't thinking and took the " '06 " as year of manufacture. I don't think they started up their production line in SC till 2008 or 9.

Nevermind.

That, sir, is a beauty. Hard to get much more classic than a Featherweight in the -06. Great score.

No problem, I'm just feeling a little feisty today. I suppose I could have phrased that a little better.

Very nice Featherweight Kurt. That has some nice wood on it! Wished they made them in 35 Whelen. That would be a sweety as well. Scotty

Oh yeah Kurt! Nice choice! And you can't ever go wrong with a Winchester 30-06!

Add my name to the "shut up for a while" list on that one! Although I am not as exclusive of the good old Remingtons as some. I would just rather have a Winchester Model 70...but big green comes in second or third nearly every time!

Kurt,

That M70 Featherweight 30-06 is a thing of beauty. A real classic rifle.
A VX-3 2.5-8x36mm would be just about perfect.

I like my Mauser, My savage is my go to for out of the case dependable accuracy, Some day I want to ownd a nice Ruger, and if ya cant appreciate a nice model 70 you havent shot enough....IMHO Nice Rifle! CL

It was a close call... I have two more sitting around here, after I mounted the 2.5-8x with the M1 elevation turret on my .325 WSM, but I think the VX3 will replace the Burris on my Whelen, and the VX III will go on my .358 Winchester(after a trip to Leupy for a new reticle, and maybe a turret).

Or .338-06... I might pry my wallet open for either one. Actually, I think I'd rather have a Sporter in a Whelen.

Thanks, Scotty!

Yeah, Dale, one of these days I'm gonna head over the hill, and well have to take the M70 '06s (and, I suppose, .300 Wizzums) out to play.

And you have a pretty long history with it, and the associated memories, a lot to be said for that...
