Kurt,

A VX-3 2.5-8x36mm would be just about perfect.

I like my Mauser, My savage is my go to for out of the case dependable accuracy, Some day I want to ownd a nice Ruger, and if ya cant appreciate a nice model 70 you havent shot enough....IMHO Nice Rifle! CL

And you have a pretty long history with it, and the associated memories, a lot to be said for that...

Yeah- the Mauser is a long way from a tack driver some times. However, the more I shoot it the more I think perhaps the "nut" behind the trigger is to blame  You are right the good memories make the rifle special. CL

That's a beautiful stock. The smoothest actions I have had are Winchester and I think the rifles just feel right in the hands. Unfortunately they don't come in RUM calibers. I am looking for a featherweight in 22-250 as we speak (or type).

Greg,
Not currently, but they are out there.

Kurt, are you sure you really want that big, old, mean, nasty 300RUM? I mean, I would be willing to take that dirty old rifle off your hands and make sure it shoots properly! Man, you got really lucky with that one. My 264WM in the Sporter has been very good since it was bedded. I can only imagine the 300RUM with the same treatment is going to be awesome! Well, with a proper recoil pad first! Scotty
