Is this system safe to use on your rifle? What were your results? Better accuracy or worse? Any comments about them to. Thanks

Obviously, the system works to fire lap a barrel. I don't think that anyone doubts that David Tubb is an able shooter and his advice is always worth heeding. However, as with any abrasive system, this should be used judiciously, as you can ruin a good barrel very quickly. It does what J-B paste does, only more quickly.

The bore on all rifles will eventually become smoother as bullets pass down the barrel. However, this does not necessarily translate into greater accuracy. Some rifles have rough bores, and yet shoot very well. I have a .280 that had a rough bore, and I thought that it would never smooth out. After about 250 rounds through the bore, and judicious use of J-B paste, it is a tack driver. On the other hand, my .325 WSM has an equally rough bore, but from the get go has shot 200 grain Nosler Partitions to 0.5 inch. Though it may shoot tighter groups as the bore is smoothed out, it is difficult to imagine that I will be able to take advantage of the increased accuracy in the field. It is a hunting rifle, and not a target rifle. If your rifle is used for hunting and has acceptable accuracy, then lapping the barrel may be totally unnecessary. On the other hand, if you believe the rifle is inaccurate and that it will benefit from lapping the barrel, then try it. Certainly, if I was already thinking of replacing the barrel and keeping the rifle, I wouldn't hesitate to fire-lap it. Otherwise, for hunting purposes, I would prefer to use J-B paste as the most aggressive abrasive permitted.

This is just my $0.03 (allowing for the exchange on the Canadian dollar).

So J-B paste will be the better option?
...............I have been using JB Bore compound or paste for 35 years without any problems or accuracy issues. To my knowledge, there have been no legitimate reports or evidence proving that the JB compound has ruined any rifle bore from being too abrasive.

Starting about 2 years ago, I added JB Bore Brite, which is used after the JB Bore compound. Afterwards, I put a bore lite into the chamber and see a reflective mirror sheen shine.

I used it on a rifle I had tried everything else on and it helped. I will probably use the rifle now without rebarreling it. It is a hunting rifle not a match grade target rifle.

I have "fire lapped" some really rough bores. It seem to help the accuracy some. It mainly help the barrels be easier to clean.I wouldn't do it except in extreme circumstances.

I used the Final Finish bullets on a 7mm Rem mag Sendero a few years back. They were the initial rounds I put through the gun, so I really don't know if it improved the accuracy or not.

It did however shoot a lot of 100 yard groups that measured really tiny... Like .25" - .4" with hunting loads. Very impressive results from a dad-gum factory rifle!

I must have had some really good reason to let it go. Danged if I can remember why I sold such an accurate hunting rifle.

Did the FF bullets work? I dunno - but I used them, and the rifle shot great.

I have finally learned my lesson well. Never sell an accurate pistol or rifle. You will live to regret it.

Almost all of the people that I know who have used FF had positive results in reduced fouling & some had increaed accuracy. The same has bee the case for me, I have used it on 4 different rifles & 1 Contender. And also, no negative results & I do have access to a borescope.
