I just got home from two more weeks of hunting in east NC. The Contender pistol in 30-30AI with the 125 ballistic tip hammered two more deer making it 4 for the season with the pistol. A 7 point buck and 3 doe. All the doe dropped in their tracks with shoulder shots. The buck came out of the cut over crossing the logging road I was hunting and never stopped. I had to get on him really quickly and hit him just a little lower on the front shoulder than I like. He took a 30 yards dash and fell. The 125 BT smashed his onside shoulder where the leg bone meets the shoulder plate went through and blew his heart to pieces and broke the offside leg on exit. I have used the 125 BT in three different calibers to take deer. 308 Win, 30X47 HBR rifles and the 30-30AI Pistol. Have taken around 30 deer with the 125 BT and only two have moved out of their tracks. Those went about 30 yards before they dropped. I will be adding more of them to my stock pile. :mrgreen:

Not trying to start a ruckus or any thing but in my humble opinion the Nosler .308 dia.125 BT. is the best whitetail bullet on the market period .....

Great work! I have yet to hit the woods with my 'tender. A friend really touts the 125NBT from a 7.62x39 AR with a .308" dia bore, smashes deer, always exits, etc. Looks like I am going to have to get some 125gr NBT's for my thuddy thuddy contender.

I would have to agree, the 125 gr BT is pure poison on WT deerr.

Scotty get you a frame and order you a SS Shilen barrel in 30-30AI from Match Grade Machines (MGM). They don't cost any more than a factory T/C barrel and are much better. The 30-30AI is astounding in the Contender. Not much recoil but will push a 125 gr BT over 2600 fps and is extremely accurate. I am very glad I did this. Lee makes a die set in 30-30AI that I use and it works great so you don't have to put a lot of cash into a special set of dies. You can also shoot factory 30-30 ammo in it in a pinch and it is accurate.
