Believe it or not neither out does the 7-300wm by much if at all if your running them magazine length. If your seating bullets where they belong then they will most definitely out run a 7-300wm but that means a overall length in the 3.9 to 4.0" range with heavy VLD type bullets. I have a couple 7STW's and 3 7-300wm's. Lately I've been leaning towards the 7-300wm because they easily run through a standard mag box and still touch the rifling with the bullets seated how they should be. For a STW to do the same you'd need to run the bullets .230" deeper into the case negating most of the added capacity you gain going to the larger case.

But yes, in my mind this will be pretty dang close to my ideal rifle for just about everything and how and where I hunt.
