Unfired or fired cases for ladder test

Hi and Merry Christmas to everyone!!
Over the Christmas break I'm going to do a ladder test on a new powder, load combination on my 300WSM. My question is: Does it make a difference if i use brand new brass or should I use some of my fired brass for the ladder test? Curious on opinions to this topic.

fired brass will give a higher velocity . I do load development with fired brass . I will do seating depth tests with virgin brass .
