Do you guys do this for nosler brass ?

I know they are prepped, just curious.

Sometimes; it depends on what primer I'll be using.
What primers would you cut a deeper pocket for with a nosler case ?

Using the probe from my calipers on my nosler pockets I get .125 - 128 " depth.
My WLR primers are .128 " to the anvil .

What do you think ?

WLR and WLRM (and Remington) primers have never given me a problem with Nosler brass; there is enough spring in the brass cups that they seat quite nicely. The steel cups on CCI and Federal primers can make seating them an interesting challenge if the pockets are not turned just a bit.

I haven't seated that many yet... Maybe 20... But I haven't had any problems seating CCI primers in Nosler brass (270 Win and 280 Ackley)...I use an RCBS hand priming tool.

They are nice and snug... But they seat fine.

I use a Sinclair carbide pocket uniformer that is non-adjustable. You can chuck it up in a cordless drill to make the job even easier. While you may not need to uniform the Nosler brass pockets when they are new, you do need to clean them. I just use the uniforming tool after each firing. No problems, clean & uniform.

I use the Lyman primer pocket uniforming tool. I uniform every case I load for rifles as part of my initial case prep. Regardless of manufacturer.
The bottom of the pocket has a tiny radius and this is what you are cutting out. If you are cutting brass from the bottom of the pocket then that primer pocket was a little shallow to begin with.
Cutting out that little radius just makes all your primer pockets the same depth. It also allows the primer to seat fully and gives better ignition.

I do with R-P brass but not Nosler.

Mike,

I use Federal GM215M primers in Nosler 280AI and 338 RUM brass with no issues.

In fairness, the primary problem I have encountered with seating into the primer pockets was on the 260 Rem. Those pockets were some kind of tight. Turning them was difficult as the primer bit kept getting stuck. I did not encounter that problem with the .280 when I consulted my notes. I am loading up some more of the .260 Rems this week, so I'll see what happens this time.
