***UPDATE....Calling any Winchester expert...

Okay, let me get this straight....
You have 2, m70 25wssm's 1 ultimate and 1 super. You want to make the super an ultimate (or other with a drop floor plate)
Why dont you just swap the stocks and see if it works? Use the internal parts from the super to be sure the work with the ultimate stock and bottom metal you have. If the internal box doesn't work, try with the ultimate. The screw spacing should be the same for both wssm's @ 6-3/8", not sure you could get more concrete than that.
Then you just need to search Midwest or Numrich's to find a wssm stock (and internals if needed)
🤣🤣🤣

Hello captain obvious.....

Which is me. 🙄🙄🙄🙄

Sometimes the simplest of things eludes us.

Yes indeed trying this will tell me a lot.

I'll post my findings later today

Thx brotha

I sold the rifle a few years ago so I can't go measure it. The "Controlled Round Push Feed" wasn't made for very many years. Seems to me it was developed specifically for the Winchester Short Magnums. They worked really well and had a good reputation for being accurate rifles.

Current Winchester Model 70's are back to the old pre-64 style with the big claw extractor and controlled round feed. Very well made, but I'm not sure if they're the exact same length as the old pre-64 actions. I think so?

Guy
Just to let people know the CRPF bolts were also found in the long actions like 30-06 which I have one of that I had rebored to .358 and chambered for the 35 Whelen AI.
Since all of my push feeds are long actions, I replaced the Winchester synthetic stocks with either wood or good synthetic stocks with 375 H&H magazine boxes and bottom metal so I could reach longer maximum overall length. Some used a special bottom spacer I bought from Brownells to get the right fit.
Most or all of the parts were purchased off E-Bay.
