Say I have 3 different lots of brass, same brand & same calibre of course, & once fired. I resize & trim all to exact same length, flash hole has been chamfered inside all cases. If I weigh them all & divide them into 2 weight lots, provided there is no tremendeous difference in weight within the lot I choose to reload, will there be much difference in the performance of these loads :?: We are talking hunting loads, not refined target loads. If I have a good day, this load will put 3 under 3/4" :)What do you think :?:

Your results work for me. However I am way too anal to do it.
Just knowing it would keep me awake at night!

Thanks POP :) Just curious what other's thoughts are & trying to keep myself from becoming too anal

The only problem i could forsee is; if you are close to max load and one lot of brass is more brittle than the other, you may incur some possible case rupture or seperation. If you are not near max load you shouldn't have any issues......

Different brands of cases could be very similar in weight but the interior dimensions and capacity could be very different.
I would be very cautious especially when you get near max loads

I was shooting a bunch of mixed brass once all winchester once shot factory ammo but ammo from several different years. I kept getting high and low flyers but mainly good groups. I then started loading from a single batch of brass bought seperate and the fliers disapeared, this is my only experience with mixed brass but it was enough for meeeee.

Thanks for your input guys, I really appreciate your thoughts :) To this point, I haven't been mixing brass lots & I think i'll keep it that way.

I've weight sorted quite a bit of brass. I've noticed as much as a 2-3% difference in average weight between different lot numbers.
