Jeff asked me to post a picture of his 6.5x47 kill. I am pretty sure he will pop in and give us the skinny on it. Scotty

thanks for posting scott. this is a female coyote that i have been after for two years, i named her yodeler because she had a distinctive signature on her howl. i shot 7 coyotes across the road from this place but never was sure if it was her sans the males of course. i hunted on the property across the road last night and she responded to the female coyote challenge thus giving away her position and proof of identity. i shot her coming in head on at 217 yards with a 6.5x47 lapua with a 130g vld @ 2830 fps, pelt damage minimal. she is by far the biggest female i have killed. i have recently gained access to 80,000 acres on the reservation thats loaded with coyotes i will keep you guys posted with pictures, this is some of the sweetest property i have ever hunted. good luck to all of you guys this fall and invitation is open if your in the area look me up.

CL - you've simply got to whack a yote!

Not hard to do... Your .250 would be perfect. I think this is a project you could refine to an art form...

Although a mouth call works great - and I usually use one - a remote electronic call is superb. Couple the remote call with a visual decoy, like a feather suspended via clear mono line, moving gently in the wind, and you're in! Camo your location with a blind or something, get the call going, and stand by...

I've been remiss in my 'yote zapping duties, have noticed a lot of coyote sign in my mule deer hunting area the last few days. Will get after them, when the last of our big game seasons are over.
