Went on an afternoon hunt with the club. The beagles got a doe and this buck up and moving in the cutover that we were hunting. Two other guys shot at him before he turned and ran by me. That dude was flat out hauling butt! First shot missed but the second connected at 150 yards with the 300 RUM and 200 AB. Took two hours to find him in that nasty cutover. He fell in a ditch that we walked by three times! Almost gave up for the day and walked right up to him on the last pass. Found him 30 minutes before dark. 11 pointer with a 19 1/2" outside spread. Happy Thanksgiving guys!!!

Had to put this one in for the "got a big buck and muddy truck" pic!

Congrats and Happy Thanksgiving!

Love the sendero II also!

That is a great deer, Brian. He'll do in about any region. Congratulations. Matt sure does look pleased.

Brian,

Nicely done buddy.
That buck is a stud.

Thanks guys! That's a buck of a lifetime around here. Really has made up for getting skunked in Idaho. Came really close to not finding him. I dropped him on some thick, nasty stuff that Scotty and Joel were in a few months ago. Amazing that he was within yards of where I thought I had shot him and still took two hours for recovery.

Glad I had that heavy barrel rifle for that shot! Makes it real smooth when swinging on a running deer.

What a great looking buck! Congratulations! Good on you for the young hunter with you, too.

This big buck has made my season, but this was way better!!!

I knocked him down and Matt gave him the finisher with his 410. That dude was pumped!!!

Priceless picture, Brian. Thanks for sharing. Congratulations, Matt!

Can the season get any better? Maybe a 6x6 elk will step out in a field in the morning or a Cape Buff will charge out of a beaver swamp
