walking varminter opinions?

Found a Rem 722 in .222 rem this weekend. Working on a trade with the guy currently. Thanks for all the opinions!

Jealous!

I Love the triple deuce. I have been flirting with a NIB CZ for a year here in town.

I had a 22-50 for many years, the moved to a Remington 700 SA, 223. It weighs 2/3 of what the other one did, and a joy to carry through the woods.

a 788 in tripple duece (coolest name for a round) is a great snag. Hope you didnt have to pay twice what it cost new. I know they are accurate, but some times those 788' s go for ridiculous prices. Great choice. CL

Looks to be a pretty good buy, Fotis. That would be a sweet rifle to shoot.

Yeah, same here Fotis. Sweet little round.. Like a mini 30-06..

When I get to where I can afford another rifle, I sure would like to pick up one of the 700 Varmaint Specials in .222. I've wanted one for a long, long time.

I used to have a remington 600 Mohawk in 222. With a leupy 3-9 compact it made for an excellent walking varminter. I had loads worked up that duplicated 22 lr and 22 mag power levels all the way to full power loads. 40gr vmax or by at 3100fps worked wonders on predators.

Kimber Montana 223 is my next purchase. I have a coyote lite 22-250 right now and am shooting 40gr BTs. Plan to start calling for woofs and coyotes here soon.
