WHAT ACCUBOND SHOULD BE NEXT?

Is Nosler producing Accubonds in 243/6mm yet? If not, how about some 100 gr Accubonds in 243?

Casey

How about a 416 cal in 320 gr or so. Unfortunately there are very few 416 bullets out there with a decent BC!

130 grain 7mm for deer/bear

It would be the perfect size for long range hunting in the 7mm-08, 7x57 and 280 rem.

The 6.5mm 140gr for the 264WM would be great. The sectional density of the heavier 6.5mm make penatration a given, not so for expansion with it's small dia. Thus you could get the reliable expansion without worry of blow-up.You don't always get long shots.

Please give us some ideas for our next AccuBond series of bullets.

Nosler Team,
Thank you for the opportunity to suggest new products. I have been a long time Nosler fan.
Here are my thoughts:

338 cal 200 gr or 210 gr AccuBond for 338 RUM

25 cal 110 gr would be ideal for the 257 Roberts.

Best Regards,

JD338

Since I generally shy away from the lighter bores my suggestions are (in the order of importance):
.416 300-325gr with a heavy shank like the 338 200gr BT's and a high BC. I think they would sell quite well with the people that own and like to shoot .416's for NA game.
.458 350-400gr for that Lott that I have the parts for and need to build
6.5mm 100-125gr also with a heavy shank to withstand velocities near 4000fps (I've got the parts for a 6.5STW too  )
.338 200gr
.358 225gr

Nosler thanks for letting us give our input here and I'm glad to see the AB lineup expanding considerably for next year already.

I too would like to see a 210 AccuBond for .338 caliber. I also would like a 165/168 gr AccuBond in ..30 call. Finally, a 160 gr .270 caliber AccuBond. I think this would be a great elk bullet for the .270 WSM rifles. It's been a while since anyone made some 160 gr. .270s.

I'd like to see a .423 diameter 350 grain AccuBond for the .404 Jeffery.....I have to go all the way to Australia to get bullets for that thing....well of course they send them to Midway and I get them there.....but never the less.....

I had a somewhat bad experience with the .358" 225 gr. Partition (insufficient penetration in my opinion), therefore, I'd like to see a .358" 225 gr. AccuBond.

35 Whelen,

What kind of penetration problem did you experience?
I also have a 35 Whelen and use the 225 gr PT for WT Deer and Black Bear. I have put the 225 gr PT lenghwise through a WT Deer and have always had a nice exit hole on 17 animals.

I agree with you that a 225 gr AB would be ideal for the 35 Whelen.

Oh I've shot a couple of deer with the .358" 225 gr. Part., and of course penetration was more than ample. But, I lost a bull elk that I shot at fairly close range. I'll not go into great detail, but I shot him at the base of the neck as he quartered slightly toward me. Not only did the bullet not exit, but it evidently didn't penetrate deep enough to break the off shoulder.
Same trip I did kill a nice bull with the same load/bullet, but again no exit from two quartering away, behind the shoulder hits. Load chronographed right at 2650 fps.

I like the idea of a 110 grain AccuBond for the 25 caliber.

In the 6mm, 243 class, I would hope you do a 90, or 95 grain AccuBond.

With the 6mm primarily a deer / lope round, personally, I am not interested in any bullet lighter than 90 grains for these critters.

I second this!

I like to use the Ballistic Tips as my practice round (less expensive) and the Partitions or Accubonds as my hunting loads. Preferably accubonds since they are more accurate than the partitions. Therefore I need Accubonds in 120 grain for my 25-06. And 100 grain for my .243. I would also like to see them in 165 grain for my 30-06.

Nosler,

I like the idea of the quarter bore in an AccuBond. Is this weight designed with the .257 Weatherby in mind? That is what I used to shoot at deer/lopes/yotes. Have been shooting the 115 BST out of it, but haven't shot any deer or lopes with it since my brother blew a doe's back up with one  . Pretty much been a yote gun since then.

If it was designed with 3400-3500 fps in mind, yahoo!!!!!!!!!! :p

Would also like to see a 95 grain .243 AccuBond.

Thanks for letting us input.
