What are your favorite handguns to shoot?

I own 2-22lr rev., 9mm p11, 40s&w sig 229, 44 BH, and 45 BH. The 45 Blackhawk is by far my favorite handgun to shoot.

Mine would be my Kimber .45! Pretty much my favorite pistol made. My SBH 44 is catching up with it though, it seems like a very accurate hunting pistol. Scotty

I would have to say my Ruger Security Six in .357 Magnum. I bought it new 26 years ago, had an action job done it, the trigger rounded, and custom grips made to fit my hand. I have had to replace the spring once. It shoots like a son of gun and is my bedroom gun, along with the shotgun.

I am with Guy and the others, a Kimber 1911 45 is the funnest pistol for me. 2nd is my 44 SBH. Shooting handguns really humbles you if you haven't shot them in awhile! Scotty

I built up this Colt from a standard 80 series. Upgrades included match grade barrel, cut and polished the feed ramp for flawless function, all new spring kit, titanium firing pin, beveled mag well, skeleton hammer, extended beavertail safety, I did a 4lb trigger job, tightened the slide to frame fit, and last but not least crimson trace grips. The other one is my buddies rock island that I did a trigger job to, added extended beavertail, and bobbed the hammer. Enjoy

Awesome pair of 1911's! They are by far the coolest autoloaders out there and have been for a long time! I am kind of partial to them! Very nice work on the guns! Scotty

Kimber custom shop CDP II, I also have a sig P-220 but the Kimber points better for me. I shoot squirrels with a Browning Buckmark which keeps me in tune during the warmer weather.

I've spent so much time on rifles and reloading I've neglected the handgun sections of the site...

My favorite centerfire handgun is an inherited Colt New Frontier in .45 Colt. This revolver requires fairly sedate loads anyway, so I have found that it makes a great way to get tuned up for the more powerful revolvers I also shoot. It's fairly easy to shoot it well and practicing with it helps reinforce the flinch-free trigger pull habit. I have found that accurate revolver and pistol shooting is mainly about squeezing that trigger and never flinching!

2-USFA .45 Colt (Bisley and SSA)
1-Ruger Bisley (.357)
1-Ruger Single Six .22 WRM
1-S&W Mod 31 (.32 long)
1-S&W Mod 331 (.32 H&R Mag)
1-S&W Bodyguard (.380)

Notice the scent of Poutine and Backbacon in this thread. You guys should appreciate my favorite handgun. It served your gallant soldiers and the RCMP well. I love my Hi-power. Mine is the Argentine contract version but is functionally the same gun. For around $300 it is right up there with the Swiss K-31 as the best red-hot bargain in the gun world today. You'll kick yourself someday for not jumping on either of those today. Hope to aquire a vintage FN or John inglis someday.

1911s are great and it's hard to argue with that big chunk of lead, but they're like black labs. Everyone has one and they think they are the best dog in the world. I see the Hi-power as John Brownings ultimate masterpiece in the handgun dept., refining his earlier work into the perfect service handgun of the era. My Argie FM 90, last dropped in the Falklands, gives the Kimber and Les Baer 1911s and striker fired plastic guns a run for their money at the local action shoots. Maybe I just don't like grip safeties. Maybe I just like being weird. I still shoot NRA high power with an M1 Garand.

I also really love my CZ 52,(7.62X25mm) but thats mostly because of the cheap ammo and hellacious muzzle blast that gets everybody's attention at the range. It also slings the brass about 50 feet which can be fun when someone's hogging up the right side of the range firing a boltgun at 25 yards through a chrono. and calling a ceasefire every 3rd round so they can check their standard deviation.

For wearing around, I prefer the USFA or Ruger BH single actions. I have (2) Bisley's and a SAA that I favor in .45 Colt and .357 Mag.

Mike, I live on the border and see our socialist destiny everday. It is like "through the looking glass" as far as our present government here is concerned. Most Canadians, whom I know, have not been without Socialism for so long that they can not recognise life without it.

I love my Glock 20, but I can really drive the hell out of an M9. Mostly due to the thousands of rounds I've put through them and the hundreds of hours of range time I've had shooting them. My only gripe with them is you could shoot the locking block right off of them within months.

Love my Springfield XD-SC so much (this is a pistol I can accurately shoot) that after finding out I can shoot my friends XDm just as good, if not better. I gotta another XD. Love them Springies..

Rod

10mm by far my #1.

Best self-defense cartridge ever designed in my opinion. Now that is quite a statement considering it is in the same company as the 45 ACP. :!:

Really starting to like my Glock G20 10mm.

I need to add my S&W 44 mag 629. Super early gun. Pinned and Recessed no dash. I love it!
