Sneaky rascals, aren't they. I've often watch mulies with just a bit of their head lying in canola fields.

But wait theirs more....

I saw horns. He is doing the old deer trick.

I’ve shot afew whitetails in heavy grass like that. A buck will push a doe away from the other deer to a romantic little field like that and keep her locked up for awhile.
Wish you had killed that coyote. He is surely up to no good! Probably trying to eat roadrunners :ROFLMAO:

Sh@@t - no wonder coyotes are still on my bucket list! With out the clues and magnification..... he lives to mouse another day! CL

Im in South Carolina. Yep, 550 it is. Outside of a 2-3 Bridger's the MB 550 is all I use.
that looks to be a good sized coyote , and nice color too . I didn't think of them getting to this size in the south . the heaviest one I've got so far , was over 50 pounds , 54 pounds if I remember right . I'm about as close to the middle of PA as you can get .

We have very few yotes that would go in the 50 lbs, heck, a 35-40 lb'er is a monster here. I killed a big male 3-4 yrs ago while hunting that might have gone 35-40 lbs and I thought he was big. I thought somebody's German Shepherd had gotten loose. I shot this ol boy about 12pm.

I do not "live trap, running pens" nor sell hides, southern yotes are not worth anything to be honest. If a yote steps in my trap, it's dead!! I simply trap for the sake of fawn and turkey poult recruitment in my area.
