What was RCBS thinking????

FYI, if you are using a standard RCBS FL sizing die for the 6.5 Creedmoor (probably affects other 6.5 calibers) the replacement decapping/expander part will not fit. The original has the smaller thread rod than the replacement piece. Here's pic of the original and the replacement. Original is on the top.

 
Call them, that can't be right. If it is I'd love to hear the salesman's explanation on that one.
 
I just checked my 6.5-300 Wby. die and wife's 6.5 Creedmoor and they both have the larger 1/4 x 28 thread shaft. The dies were bought in the last 2 years, probably an up grade to stronger shaft.

The die set was bought from RCBS directly last November...
 
One of mine was from Walmart the other from I think Midway. RCBS probably kept the old stock to sell direct.
