....make a No 1 A, AB or AH in 223 Rem? Doesn't anyone else want a lighter 223 than a No 1 V? You would think they would chamber one of the best selling rounds of all time in a gun like that.

They do funny things from time to time. It is a marketing thing. The dropped the 1B for 2012. It will be back.

I thought that little #1AB in .204 was the cat's meow....even moreso in .223!

I'd like a Number One, or a scaled down Number One, in .22 long rifle...

That would be pretty sweet.

The 218 Bee is fun and I believe they had a #3 hornet

I thought hard about an No 1 AB in 204 Ruger before they discontinued that particular model, I was waiting for a 223 to show up but it never did. Maybe I can email Lipseys and see if they will do it, there is a guy in Alberta that imports some of their limited edition stuff.

A Triple Deuce in a 1B would have me emptying my change jar. I would be almost as quick to pick up a Bee if offered.

And I thought I remembered the Hornet in a 1B (could have been a different variation) a while back... maybe during the Clinton administration? I seem to remember thinking about trading an SKS that at the time had an outrageous value to it... like $450 or something.

I have owned a couple of #3 in Hornet. A 25 yard rifle. Beyond that, if the target stood still, it would be safe.

But, yes, a .223 in a slender-barreled #1 would be the cat's meow!

I have a #1B in .22 Hornet and it's a tackdriver and a half. 8) I also have the #1V in .223 and you're right. That damn thing needs wheels. :( Sure is awfuly accurate though.
I like those Ruger #1 rifles in any model but the #1S is probably my favorite. I did have a lightweight #1 in .223 with custom wood and a 22" barrel off a Remington M7 that made a fine walkabout varminter. I let a friend talk me out of it and every once in while I have to stop and think, "What in the hell was I thinking when I let that one go?"
