I am not usually a Winchester person, but this sounds like a nice elk hunting package

The rifle is a Winchester Model 70 Classic chambered in 338 Win Mag. It is a CRF model with a 26" barrel and I put an after market HS Precision Stock on it. Shoots 225 grain accubonds sub-moa. I have fired exactly one box of shells through it and need to sell to pay bills.

Stainless rifle with the HS stock. Asked the seller is full aluminum bedding.

Selling for $600.

Should I scoop it up?

Thanks

Sounds like a fair price to me. There is no question but that the cartridge will perform for the user. I do like my Model 70s.

Sounds like a very reasonable price for what you are getting? I would scoop it up if I needed a .338 WM.

+1. Sounds like a great "bring-it-on" type of rifle. The .338 is one of those cartridges that they got right when they introduced it, and it's still right.

Sounds like a great deal if its shooting 225 ABs that good! The rifle alone should be worth $600 and that HS stock sells for $400 new.

That is a real good deal as said before Winchester is a real good rifle and the H & S stock is top notch right now you can't seem to even order the H & S stocks and clips .

Blessings,
Dan

BINGO! That is the same rifle I have right now (old 338 Win Mag). Rifle is a great shooter and just a great all arounder. For 600, I don't think you can go wrong.

I had one of those earlier CRF Model 70's. It shot really well and I killed a couple of elk with it and 210 Partitions. They are great bargains!

Here is mine. I threw it into a B&C Medalist.. Rifle has turned in some excellent groups too..

200 AB

250 AB

 Scotty that rifles shoots them 250's pretty nice or is that your fault
I was looking at the rifle below but do not know much about Model 70's but it looks like a sweet rifle for the price and has some nice furniture on it even though the pictures are bad :?:

Only 9 hours on this rifle and not sure if that price is reasonable but for wood stocked rifle NIB it seems like a sweet rifle and only 1 bid on it??

Yeah, I'd take that Model 70 in a heartbeat Terry. I like them Sporters alot and a 338 like that would be a great set up. Looks pretty sharp and I don't mind those NH rifles a bit.

I just picked up a Winchester Model 70, walnut Monte Carlo stock, with a left hand action for $650 w/o the scope and thought I got a fair deal.

It will be my first left handed bolt gun. I'm falling hard for this rifle and could see me going to all left handed bolts in the future. The rifle looks to be minimally, if at all, fired and came with the original box and paperwork. It too sports a 26" barrel but it's blued.

I really like the CRF and hope it shoots as good as it looks.

You'll have to give us a picture when you are able, Vince. I do like the Model 70. Usually, they can be made to shoot quite well. They carry nicely and deliver the goods.

That is a very good price for a LH Winchester especially a 338 WM, you did well. Once you start shooting with a lefty bolt you will wonder why you didn't do it earlier :)

These prices are pretty fair, I would say. I was paying $600+ for slightly used CRF, Model 70's back in the 1990's. These prices seem fair to me certainly.
