I just picked up a Winchester Model 70, walnut Monte Carlo stock, with a left hand action for $650 w/o the scope and thought I got a fair deal.

It will be my first left handed bolt gun. I'm falling hard for this rifle and could see me going to all left handed bolts in the future. The rifle looks to be minimally, if at all, fired and came with the original box and paperwork. It too sports a 26" barrel but it's blued.

I really like the CRF and hope it shoots as good as it looks.

That is a very good price for a LH Winchester especially a 338 WM, you did well. Once you start shooting with a lefty bolt you will wonder why you didn't do it earlier :)

I'm already asking myself that and I haven't fired this rifle yet.

The gentleman that taught me to shoot was left handed but he only shot right handed bolt actions. I just did as I was taught.

I would bet you'll like it a bunch and that is a pretty rare rifle. It shouldn't take much load work to get that rifle up and ready. Might have to touch up the trigger a little and maybe bed the recoil lug, but other than that, I am betting it'll shoot.. Should be excellent with that 26" barrel too..

Orchemo,

I too am wondering if you snagged that rifle?

If I derailed your thread I apologize. You get the credit as it was your thread that started me on this Model 70 .338 Win Mag "kick" and I'll let SWMBO, (She Who Must Be Obeyed), blame you as it's easier for me that way.
