Winter photos - mule deer

Went cross-country skiing with my youngest son earlier today, and we ran across some mule deer. It was pretty cool. They showed virtually no fear of us.

They do relax somewhat at this time of year--wary, but unafraid. Great photos, Guy. Thanks for sharing and letting us dream of where we would like to be today.

Those are some great photos!

They are smart, they can tell the difference between ski poles and a M700 CDL 25-06. :wink:

Did that one in the last picture have the hair missing around it's eye? Kinda looks like it to me, looks like a young one too. If so that's probably ringworm caused by a Vitamin A deficiency caused by lack of sunlight in the winter. All my young calves under a year old get that but none of the older ones do.
