I heard today that Aaron's ram, taken a few miles north of my home in Wenatchee, Washington, was officially measured at 191" and a bit. Dunno what the "bit" is, but that measurement, after the required drying period, is several inches larger than the former world record California Bighorn. I knew we had some serious rams here, have come across them several times while hunting coyotes & mule deer, or simply while out hiking the rough country, but I didn't know they were world record class.
Guess it's going to be even tougher to draw a tag here now. Odds are already something like 5,000:1 for the tag. I figure I'll be in a walker by the time I'm drawn... Still I know two guys who've drawn the tag and taken their ram in that area over the years. Both are really good guys, always ready to help another hunter. Nice to see a good guy do so well.
