WSM Comparison at 20 Inches.

The 376 Steyr is not a very popular round so I wonder how hard it would be to find brass. It does perform well however a 270 gr bullet at 2600 fps is going to do some damage.

The Steyr is a favourite cartridge of my hunting partner. I've watched him take elk and bison with that cartridge. It does pack a punch, and is pleasingly accurate. The only short-coming is that brass can be difficult to come by, as it is proprietary with Hornady. As with many of their proprietary cases, they don't make regular runs of the brass.

I think the .376 Steyr is under some serious consideration. I might just ditch the short barrel idea and go for a 7mm wsm.

Or I can just write all the options down and throw darts and build whatever I hit.

Any more, with all the choices available, and very few being poor, the dart idea is probably the most logical at this point. The 376 Steyr definitely fits into the "cool factor."
