Been reloading since 1974 and the 30-06 since 1975. No novice! Rem 700 w/ ultra light, 22", 550" diameter barrel at the muzzle. Have lots of experience with the 4350's, 4831's, H4895 and H414. Want to try the Reloaders (19 and 22) using both the Hornady 180 Interlocks and Nos 180 BT's.

I will start my bullet touching the lands, which means my OAL is the in the neighborhood of 3.395". I use Win cases and WLR primers.

What's your experiences with Rel 19 and Rel 22. While we are at it, I'm intrigued with Ramshot Hunter.

I use R19, cci primers and 165 grain partitions with my 30-06. I think I am 1 grain below max and it is the most accurate firearm I have ever shot. And it is the cheapo blued, synthetic wollyworld speacial Model 70. So far iv'e taked 2 elk and a couger with that set up and 165 grain partitions.

RL19 & RL22 are not too far apart. In magnum cases they will often produce the same velocities. IMR 7828 & RL22 are usually 1 grain apart which results in an abberation of +/- 50 fps. I have burned more pounds of RL22 than I can remember. It is my personal favorite.

I am sorry, I have never loaded a 30-06. I have used all of the Reloder powders and shoot them exclusively. The exception to tht is my 300 Wby, it likes IMR 7828 and I certainly do too.

RL19 is an equally good powder. I think your choice may be as simple as personal preference.

I have tried both in my son's 06. I find RL22 more accurate & higher vel. vs perssure w/ 180gr bullets. Start w/ 59gr & work up to 61.5gr max. in my son's Ruger. Almost 2800fps & it shoots 1moa.

I burn a lot of RL19 in two calibers, the 30-06 and the .260 Remington. I've been really happy with RL19 in the 30-06 with 180 grain bullets. I usually shoot the 180 Hornady Interlocks for a utility and practice bullet (around 5-600 a year) and I used to shoot 50 180 Partitions a year. Last year I switched to the 180 Accubonds and I doubt I'll ever look back. My -06 is one of the very first Ruger 77's made with the swing style saftey, its got a 22" pipe that finishes around .625" at the muzzle. I pulled the barrel and lapped it at a buddies rifle barrel shop, then recrowned it, then glassbedded it. It'll put 5 Accubonds into one great big hole at 100 yards if I pay attention to the wind flags. I use R-P cases, CCI 200's, 180 Accubonds .005" off the leade, and enough RL-19 to push them 2752 FPS average. I taught that load how to kill elk last season, it tipped one over before I could even get round number two up the pipe.
