Ok guys I'm trying to get this thing kicked off by 1 Jan 2009 so I need some input. Please take a look at this and see what you think.

First time I've ever tried anything like this, so help a fella out! The rules are only a rough draft and I'm trying to get things hammered out. I'm trying to find more prizes either out of pocket or by donation for the other runners up in the contests, just don't want to give these kids junk that will wind up in some drawer.

I know a lot of members here are members of AR so I'm just trying to get more views. Might have taken too much on here, but I'm still going to try to get this thing done.

Thanks for any ideas or suggestions in advance!

Sorry the link didn't work, yes that was the one I was trying to get up there.

Thank you!

What kind of prizes are you thinking of and what price range?
I'd be willing to donate something.
Please keep us updated with info. and timeframes.

Greg,

I was hoping to get affordable prizes that the youth could use. Joe Miller has offered up a hunting knife. I'd like the prizes to be new or lightly used and with a value of $25-100. I don't want to break anyone’s piggy bank with times the way they are so if you got something that can be used by or is helpful to a young hunter starting out that will not wind up in the junk drawer.

Things like pocket knives, flash lights, shooting mats, range bag, ear muffs, shooting rests, cleaning kits, binoculars, scope rings, and rimfire scopes are some things that come to mind. All prizes would be sent by the person donating them as well so the winning recipient will know where they came from, and where to direct there thanks.

Anyone who is very good with proofreading would be greatly appreciated as a first round judge for the contest. I want to remove myself from the winner selection process as much as possible to keep things fair.

Thanks again!

I have a couple of rifle scopes and a pair binoculars I can part with. Nothing real fancy, but in good working condition (not beat up).
Scopes:
Simmons 8-Point 3-9x40
Simmons Whitetail Classic 2-8x32 (I think)

Binoculars:
Bushnell Legend "Hillary" model - 7-15x28

I'll put you down for them! Thank you very much!

Rules have been updated. Please let any interested youth know what is going on. I'll start receiving essays on 1 Jan 2009!
