Well, I was finally able to get out and zero the 45-70 with the new 1.25x4 VXR on it. I gotta admit. Very nice optics. I was shooting it side by side with the Swaro and Minox 2-10. Very impressed with the red dot, and the #4 reticle. Very nice. Not made for shooting bug holes, but it should be excellent for the hunting I do with the 45-70. It tracks perfectly as well.

Those were all shot at 137 yards. Yeah, I know, weird range, but the way the target is set up on the hunt club area ended up that way, so I ran with it for today.
I didn't include my last target, but it is just 3 .458 holes in the orange dot on top. I was shooting at the top dot the entire time, but just kept dialing up to get it zeroed.
Again, those looking for a nice, low powered variable, I am not sure you could go wrong for the price. Seems to be made well, the adjustment is pretty nice as well. Looks clear and again, I love the reticle. Should be excellent for hunting in the timber and thick areas.
Oh, the load is 40 grains of RL7, Starline cases, CCIBR2's and Dave's 405 grain bullet. I tell you, it is the BEST cast bullet I have shot and it is much more accurate than I can shoot, and very consistent. Wished I had a thousand or more of them..
Either way, I am thinking they will head to Idaho in a month for Spring Bear. Pretty sure they will work excellent. They run outta my rifle right at 1600FPS..
