The M48 Custom is chugging right along doing what it does without any fuss.

Took a big ole doe at 550 yards today, my 12 year old son was on the trigger.... quartering away...bang, flop....160 grain Accubond entered about halfway back on the right side, exited in front of the shoulder on the left.... spine hit.... perfect shot at that angle... she was dead before she hit the ground.

Did tear up a little back strap.... not too bad though.

I don’t own a 280 but I sure like the cartridge.

Nice coaching Lynn, congratulations to your son on his shooting and his doe. I'm hoping my daughter fills her tag with my 280AI tomorrow morning. She's shooting the 150 gr AB. Yes, the 280AI just get it done .

Used the 280 AI and ONE 140 gr. Nosler Accubond at 158 yards this year on my grizzly bear. He died almost instantly.

Later in our deer season a mule deer doe and a mule deer buck were taken with one shot each at about 300 yards. Great cartridge.
