FINALLY!!!!
I was finally able to get out with the 1986 Remington 700 Classic in .264WM that I bought last fall. Yes I know I’ve been slacking. After following some advice from some of the .264 “cool guys club”(Tom/Scotty) and so forth, I settled in on RL33. I started at 72gr and worked up from there. I shot 72-73.5 on Saturday, and 74-76 on Sunday. The wind really came up on me on Sunday as I was shooting the last of the 76gr. 76 was a bit hot, I started getting a little bit of a sticky bolt, but that’s ok, I think I found a load in the 75gr arena! I need to have the trigger worked on as well. Breaks very clean, but way too heavy for my liking. Without further adieu, here are some photos!
Here’s the info:

All in all it was a very enjoyable two days and it was great to finally get out with the “new” rifle. I was also very pleased with the Burris C4 as well. Only made one windage, and one elevation change all day.

Great looking rifle! And it's a shooter too. Really like the looks of that 75 gr target... Sweet.

The cartridge looks like it's going a gazillion FPS, just sitting still! Any big plans for hunting with it this year? If you miss with that... There are No Excuses!

Thanks Guy!Just muleys right now, I don't have a tag for anything else. I hope I can get a good chrono reading and get a turret made for that scope.

I don't know how close you are to the rifling but most guys have found that the ES and SD are considerably better if the bullets are within .010" of the rifling with R-33.

I could barely close the bolt at 3.296. Backed off to 3.200.

Mike that is a great looking rifle & she sure seems to like that 75grs of RL33. It looks like you are very close to making it a go too load!!
Thanks for the photos with the range report.

Blessings,
Dan

Fine looking rifle; and the 75 grain load looks very promising. I'd say the Nebraska muleys have just heard some discouraging sounds.

Nice Rifle and good shooting Like your bullet selection as well.

That 75 gr load does look very promising, you are close to a fantastic load there. RL 33 is quite intriguing, I wished I had had a chance to use it in mine. Absolutely love your Classic, and the C4 looks great too :)

Very nice Mike. Great load work and beautiful rifle. Just looks like an awesome combo. When do you reshoot?

Mike,

Very nice buddy.
I am partial to the 700 Classics and the 264 Win Mag is a winner. You have a decent load in the works and you will have it nailed down soon. I would think you are getting some decent speed too.

My son-in-law has the 264 in the Classic out of my father's collection. I've got a Winchester model 70. I've had good luck with the Sierra 120 grain bullets and have also worked up a load with the 125 grain Partitions. Looks like I'll have to look at the AB bullet.
Makes a good Antelope gun also. I have had some split necks with this cartridge with some older brass.
How is the Nosler brass working for you. I got some awhile back for my 280 and would buy again if I needed some.
