6.8 mm SPC

Anyone have experience with the 6.8 mm SPC - I'm thinking about getting a Thompson Center G2 Contender with the new Leupold VX-L 4.5 x 14 x 50 B&C Scope. I've seen come comments about a similar set-up, but was hoping for some feedback from you guys. I'd plan on hunting whitetail, pronghorn, hogs with the rifle. I have a Browning A- Bolt in .300 WSM and just looking for something in a smaller caliber with good ballistics for Texas hunting.
 
I am interested in the cartrige also. Bushmaster is chambering an AR-15 in 6.8 SPC. Bushmaster says it's a military developed round with average velocity of 2600 with a hornady 115 v-max. i imagine you would get higher velocities out of a single shot or bolt action. The AR-15 in 6.8mm looks like a nice addition to the "get the ---- out of my yard' collection
