Yes I have a Ruger. I want to load 225 grain bullets and was looking for something quality other than partitions. Nobody makes a 225 grain flat base spitzer other than the Nosler partition. I thought about Sierra's but I hear bad things about core separation with their boattails.
I can load my 350 Rem Mag to a maximum cartridge overall length of 2.900 inches. Is this bullet suitable to the loads in the newest manual and not be a highly compressed load (over 103%), in my set up.
I am purchasing a new scope for my 300 mag, which I would like to be 500 yard capable. Is a 3x9 or a scope to 10 power sufficient? Should I have parallex adjustment even at 9 or 10 power at that range? I am not looking to count ticks, but I do want to make an accurate shot and have a decent...
I am looking for some 300wsm loads with 180 gr Nosler accubond or 180 gr Sierra pro hunter (flat base) bullets. Other bullet loads are welcome also.
Please include the primer and length if you know it.
I am looking for some 270wsm 130 gr bullet(any make) loads. Just looking to try something different but I will use 130gr bullets and I am hunting deer.
Which CT bullet are you shooting? If it is the ballistic tip I would definitally switch to the accubond for less meat damage. I would stay with the 165 weight for the same reason and for better penetration on close shots. I am not obsessed with saving meat but when a shoulder shot damages the...
It seems to me that bullet companies have their own ogive design that seems to have an efficiency peak in certain diameters. Also compare other diameter bullets with the same sectional density, .243, .358, etc. Usually at a point each way you start losing b.c. . 6.5 mm to .338 seem to have...
My ideal deer load would be a 95 partition, and my ideal coyote load would be a 80 balistic tip. However I am broke currently and I am going to load something I have.
I have had good accuracy and terminal performance with Speer Grand Slams in 270 win 130 gr. I have yet to have a very accurate load with balistic tips. Speer Grand Slams and Hot Cor bullets should be bonded or partially bonded being they pour melted lead for the core into the jacket.
What...
I also have 100 gr Hornady flat base bullets but am not sure on their performance on coyotes. Also I have 85 Sierra Pro Hunters and 87 Hornady spfb's but think they are a poor choice on deer.
The ranges I shoot could range from 20 to 300 yards on both animals.
I have some 95 gr bts that I considred loading, and I was looking for some terminal performance feedback at various ranges. I will use the load on deer and coyotes.
